Tile Engine Tutorial Part 4!
We have just posted part 4 of our Tile Engine Tutorial by our own Kurt Jaegers!  This installment replaces the current map array declarations with a simple map editor that will allow us to visually design and save a map using our tile sets.  Part 4 also introduces to mouse input and control along with some basic text rendering... by the time you finish this tutorial you should be able to create your very own tile based map and save it, and reload it the next time you are in the application!  Check it out...
Evo FX Engine getting ported to XNA!
The EVO FX Engine from 3D Evolution, a managed .NET game engine written in C# and Managed DirectX has been ported to the XNA framework and should be released on October 15th!  The engine should be free during the XNA beta but there will be a charge for the final product.  Checkout the 3D Evolution site for a list of engine features and a few screens!
Rotating Models
Daniel Crenna is at it again!  This time he has fused Zima Catalin's Model Loader sample, Matthew Clever's Mouse sample, and his own camera example and built a sample rotating model... the main point of the sample is to show some keyboard input, and understand that we are changing the model's "actual" matrix, and give you some immediate feedback on the screen... Spark Demo - Crazy Physics!
We have just put up what should be the first of many new user contributions here at XNAResources! Spark is a game demo in early stages of development... The game is kind of a mix between Geometry Wars and Ikaruga with some gravitational physics!  Better yet the source code is available so if you are working on anything that requires some form of physics implementation than you have got to check this out!
 
Free Floating Camera Component with Mouse Control!
Daniel Crenna has posted a free floating camera game component for XNA over at his blog... the full source code is available so if you are looking for a way to get started working with 3D in XNA then this might be just what your looking for!  The mouse control vertical and horizontal rotation and the scroll wheel zooms in and out!
 
360 Controller Images...
Sinnix over at 360Prophecy has just posted some XBOX 360 controller images over at his blog... These buttons look GREAT... they are not just screen caps from another image of the controller... instead they are hand made in Photoshop with that shinny glossy look that is so trendy right now!  They have a download with each of the individual buttons in PNG format as well as a .psd so you can make you own buttons or customize theirs!  This is a MUST HAVE for anyone working on a game in XNA right now!
 
Skyboxes in XNA/GSE!
Chuck over at gamebasement.net has just posted some information to his blog about creating skyboxes in XNA.  Chuck brought us one of the first mesh importers for XNA since the Content Pipeline didn't ship with the beta!  There isn't any source code available right now but it's a good read if your struggling with getting things going in 3D.  He also has the guts of a scenegraph editor almost ready to be rolled into an XNA Express level editor!
 
Tutorial - Making a game character walk, jump, duck, and shoot!
Checkout this tutorial over at xnadevelopment.com... It covers the basics of making a 2D game character walk, jump, duck, and shoot... the tutorial also covers some of the other basics needed to accomplish this task, like managing sprite position information, keeping track of character states, using single image sheets for your game characters, and dealing with frame animations.
 
Blocks are falling from the sky!
Matt over at xnaexplorer.com has just released a new Blocks Demo Game made with XNA/GSE!  It isn't intended to be a full game, just a learning experience... The full source is available so if you think you see something that may help you with a project your working on check this one out!
